Dr. Jay Paton

Osteopath

Dr Jay Paton has completed a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy) at VUT. He is also fully qualified to apply dry needling and is currently doing additional studies in shoulder injury management and rehabilitation. After completing and qualifying with his qualifications Dr Jay Paton worked full time work in a outer regional district clinic gaining comprehensive experience with hands on treating and rehab for a variety of common musculoskeletal conditions.

Jay grew up in Hobsons Bay area and was always keen to come and work locally to service the local community he knew were passionate about their sport. Jay has participated locally in several sports including cricket, baseball, basketball however, football is his biggest passion. Playing for the Altona Vikings up to senior level his determination to achieve started in junior league and was he was chosen for interleague and made runner up best and fairest in U17. He also gained a first hand understanding of managing sports injuries from a physical and emotional standpoint, knowing the importance of guidance and patience as essential to achieve your end goal. Jay hung up his boots to concentrate on his career and now volunteers to support football at a local level with coaching and sports training for a women’s football team. He is often seen strapping, attending to and assisting players on the side lines on Saturday afternoons games. He has also completed various fun runs and a marathon and has a personal and professional understanding of foot and heel pain.

Jay enjoys meeting patients and hearing their history. He has experience in treating all back, neck, sports injuries and headache related pain. He also has great interest in exercise prescription and rehabilitation.

Away from work Dr Jay Paton enjoys walking in his local park in Altona with his partner and their dog “biscuit”, training to prepare for his next Fun Run and supporting his AFL team The Kangaroos.
