Dr Mali Pereira

Osteopath

Mali is an enthusiastic and patient practitioner ready to assist with all musculoskeletal needs. He has completed his Master of Health Science (Osteopathy) at Victoria University and worked in the St Kilda and Bayside area before establishing himself at Hobsons Bay Osteopathy.

Mali’s involvement in local sport and his own journey with sports injury management in particular concussion, inspired him to study Osteopathy and work in a role that assisted others to get the best out of themselves and the activities they most enjoy. His biggest achievement is playing local and semi-professional cricket for Yarraville and Footscray. Injury unfortunately meant a backseat approach earlier than expected and he invested some of his time in coaching others and committee work helping with direction and vision of future players. He is now able to return to play next season.

Mali is also a footy enthusiast and played footy at Williamstown juniors footy club. This exposure to a professionally run club has given him has a strong passion in helping manage sports injury and recovery from injury. An avid Port Adelaide supporter and a close second club is the Bulldogs.

In a treatment session Mali, will utilise a variety of hands-on techniques including soft tissue, spinal manipulation, mobilisation, and dry needling to help joint pain, neck pain, back and shoulder injuries. He can also apply a softer osteopathic technique for more sensitive areas known as indirect techniques to ease tension. He helps patients with ongoing support and reaching goals through education, exercise rehab and management plans for best results.

Mali has fond memories of growing up with his brother and parents in the diverse and rich culture of Maribyrnong so loves the balance of working close to home and creating relationships with local communities. In his spare time Mali enjoys the treats of the west with dining out, watching live music around socialising locally with friends.

Mali is very welcoming and keen to assist with new and return patients.
